Three Hiram College physics majors recently presented their research at the American Physical Society, Ohio Region, 2014 Spring Meeting held at Youngstown State University on April 4 and 5, 2014. The presentations were as follows:
Associate Professor of Physics Mark Taylor coauthored these three posters, and he also gave the talk “Polymer Adsorption transition: Applications of the Wang-Landau and partition function zeros methods.” The focus of this meeting was materials physics, so these Hiram contributions on the behavior of polymeric materials fit in well with the meeting theme.
Andrew Bednarski ’15, of Garrettsville, a computer science and physics double major, and Professor of Physics Laura Van Wormer also attended the meeting.
A research grant from the National Science Foundation, Division of Material Research, funded the work of Taylor and his students.
