Student entrepreneurs will compete as teams and individuals in the spring idea competition, ideabuild!, at 5 p.m. on March 19, 2014, in Dix Dining Hall.
ideabuild! is a yearly competition put on by the Center for Integrated Entrepreneurship, that allows students a chance to pitch their original idea to a panel of judges, with a shot at winning start-up money ranging from $250-$1,000.
Each team presenting an idea will have six minutes to present, followed by three minutes of questions and answers. In their presentations, students will discuss their product or idea’s services, benefits, value proposition, potential customers, marketing, production, intellectual property, start-up capital requirements and more.
This is the fifth year Hiram College has hosted both ideablitz! (the fall semester competition) and ideabuild!. Last year, Bryan Nemire ’13, an environmental studies major, took first place for his idea, the Citrus Icer, a novel agricultural product.
