Hiram College will hold a screening and discussion of the documentary “Miss Representation,” at 6 p.m. on March 4, 2014, in the Kennedy Center Ballroom.
The documentary explores how the media contributes to the under-representation of women in influential positions, by circulating limited and often disparaging portrayals of women.
The event is a collaboration between several campus organizations, and is co-sponsored by the Centers for Literature and Medicine, Engaged Ethics and Integrated Entrepreneurship, the Gender Equality Student Alliance, People Representing Youth Sexual Minorities (PRYSM) and Sustainability, Environment and Engaged Design Scholars (SEEDS). Student Senate’s newly elected president, Emily Lewis, and vice president, Samantha Palania, will give introductory remarks.
Free pizza, popcorn and snacks will be provided.
