Poet Kate Northrop – Oct. 17

Poet Kate Northrop will speak at Hiram College on Thursday, Oct. 17 at noon in the Pritchard Room of the Hiram College Library.

Northrop entered the poetry scene with her collection titled Back Through Interruption, which earned her Kent State University’s Stan and Tom Wick Poetry Award. This collection was followed by Things Are Disappearing Here, which was honored as a New York Times Book Review Editor’s Choice and a finalist for the James Laughlin Award. Her latest collection is Clean.

Northrop has received the Paumanok Poetry Award and American Academy of Poets Prize, as well as fellowships from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and the Sewanee Writer’s Conference. She works as a contributing editor for The New York American Poetry Review.

Northrop’s appearance is free and open to the public and is made possible with support of the Lindsay-Crane Center for Writing and Literature and the Hiram Community Trust.
