Hiram College men’s lacrosse player and freshman attacker Chris Lekan (North Olmsted/Holy Name) has been named this week’s North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Lekan helped lead the Terriers to the program’s first-ever victor with a 14-9 win against DePauw (Ind.) University on Saturday (Mar. 23) in Greencastle, Ind. Individually, Lekan scored five goals, including the game-winner, in addition to assisting on two other scores for seven total points. He took 10 shots and had a 50.0 shot percentage. Lekan also tallied two ground balls in the win.
For the season, Lekan is currently second in goals scored (11), assists (four) and points (15). He has a 33.3 shot percentage with 33 shots taken on the year. He is also third on the team in ground balls with 23.
Hiram was scheduled to host The College of Wooster tonight (Tuesday, Mar. 26) in a NCAC game at Charles A. Henry Field, but the game has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions. No makeup date has been determined. The next scheduled game is Saturday, Mar. 30 when the Terriers host Ohio Wesleyan University at 1 p.m. at Henry Field.
