Nearly 50 Hiram College students, faculty and staff witnessed history on Jan. 21, 2013, as they traveled to Washington, D.C., on a 24-hour bus trip for President Barack Obama’s second inauguration and Martin Luther King Day.
Parker Suddeth ’13 helped organize the trip with Detra West, associate dean of students and director of ethnic diversity affairs. Students watched the inauguration celebrations as they happened in the early afternoon, and many were able to visit other D.C. landmarks later in the day.
“The trip was very diverse, and that’s one of the things I wanted this year to happen, and that made the trip even more awesome,” Suddeth said.
