Hiram College sophomore volleyball player Tierra Moore (Canton/Canton South) has been named this week’s North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Hiram posted a pair of victories this past week in the final two matches of the regular season defeating non-conference opponents Ithaca (N.Y.) College and SUNY-Fredonia in straight sets in a tri-match in Fredonia, N.Y.
Individually, Moore recorded 73 set assists (14.60 assists per set) to go along with 20 digs, five blocks (one solo and four assists) and seven kills in five sets played. For the season, Moore has helped the Terriers to a 24-7 overall record. She leads the team in assists with 1,116 (10.43 a/s). Moore has also recorded 64 kills (0.60 kills per set) with a .398 hitting percentage. She has also tallied 19 service aces, 208 digs (1.94 digs per set) and 58 total blocks (18 solo and 40 assists).
Hiram will make its 11th straight appearance in the NCAC Tournament later this week as the number three seed. The Terriers will take on sixth-seeded Ohio Wesleyan University on Friday, Nov. 2. Top seeded Wittenberg University will host the tournament with Hiram and OWU playing at 4 p.m. on Friday in Springfield.
